Here’s Part II of Mo’s return trip to the Dominican Republic where she visited with her friend, Robinson, who graduated from college with a degree in civil engineering.  Mo met Robinson in late 2009 when she decided to do a volunteer vacation trip to the Dominican at Diane’s Sun Camp in Puerto Plata, DR.  With the help of Diane, the owner of the camp, Mo met Robinson who in turn helped her organize a few workout sessions with the kids.  Mo brought a bunch of sneakers, soccer shirts and gear on her trip and gave them away to the kids in the batey, an area for Haitian refugees near Diane’s camp.  The group played basketball, baseball, soccer and went swimming in the river before having lunch in Mo’s apartment at camp.

During this return trip, Diane suggested that it would be best to buy food or water near Munoz Village, and to supply shoes or sneakers to help protect kids against parasites that enter the body through the feet when kids cannot afford shoes or sneakers.  Here are photos from the 2016 soccer party and sneaker giveaway below (click through all of them).
